Young Professionals YP Colombia, con el apoyo de Colsein te invita a la jornada técnica: Internet of Things – Una industria en Evolución

El objetivo de esta jornada consiste en realizar una visita técnica que permita a los estudiantes de últimos semestres y los Young Professionals IEEE de Sección Colombia, un acercamiento a equipos industriales desarrollados para hacer parte de las nuevas tendencias tecnológicas con Internet of things IoT.

Al finalizar, los asistentes tendrán las bases para explorar nuevas tecnologías, métodos de implementación y nuevos campos de acción de los avances tecnológicos en conectividad a internet de dispositivos de automatización.

Call for Papers CCRA
 

The 2016 IEEE Colombian Conference on Robotics and Automation (CCRA 2016) follows the 5th IEEE Workshop on Robotics and Automation (IEEE CWRA) organized by the IEEE RAS Colombian chapter and IEEE-Colombia. CCRA 2016 will be held in Bogotá, Colombia, between September 29 th - 30 th 2016.
The venue for CCRA 2016 is the Universidad Sergio Arboleda.

CCRA’s objective is to gather academic and industrial Colombian robotics and automation community to discuss advances in robotics and automation, and how to transfer this knowledge into the society. Alongside CCRA 2016 there will be several robotic competitions, one of which will be the Colombia classificatory for the IEEE Latin American Robotics Competition 2016 (LARC 2016).

Contributions
The proceedings of CCRA 2016 will be published by IEEE and will be available in IEEE Xplore. CCRA 2016 seeks for English written high-quality papers
presenting original results in all areas of robotics and automation, also including works in related field such as machine learning, computer vision and
control. Spanish written contributions can be submitted but will not be published by IEEE. There will be also a special track for undergraduate student’s

projects. Among other, this conference encourages contributions in the following topics:

Estudiantes de pregrado y posgrado, profesionales, docentes y todos aquellos interesados en conocer los avances que se están generando relacionados con inteligencia computacional (redes neuronales).

Sobre el tutorial:

Los participantes deberán tener un equipo donde realizar ejercicios prácticos, donde se implementarán agentes inteligentes a través de neuroevolución. A los inscritos se les dará instrucciones para instalar el material del tutorial. El tutorial será impartido en inglés.

Abstract:

Neuroevolution, i.e. evolution of artificial neural networks, has recently emerged as a powerful technique for solving challenging reinforcement learning problems. Compared to traditional (e.g. value-function based) methods, neuroevolution is especially strong in domains where the state of the world is not fully known: The state can be disambiguated through recurrency, and novel situations handled through pattern matching. In this talk, I will review (1) neuroevolution methods that evolve fixed-topology networks, network topologies, and network construction processes, (2) ways of combining traditional neural network learning algorithms with evolutionary methods, and (3) applications of neuroevolution to control, robotics, artificial life, and games.

About Distinguished Lecturer:

Risto Miikkulainen is a professor of computer sciences at the University of Texas at Austin and a Fellow at Sentient Technologies, Inc.  He received an M.S. in engineering from the Helsinki University of Technology, Finland, in 1986, and a Ph.D. in computer science from UCLA in 1990. His current research focuses on methods and applications of neuroevolution, as well as models of natural language processing, and self-organization of the visual cortex; he is an author of over 350 articles in these research areas. He is currently on the Board of Governors of the Neural Network Society, and an action editor of Cognitive Systems Research and IEEE Transactions on Computational Intelligence and AI in Games.
